CHRISTIANITY IS SELFLESSNESS!
Selflessness is one of the fundamental principles of the Christian faith. It is an act whereby one is much more concerned with the needs, wishes or affairs of others. Selflessness is the perfect definition of love.
This is the kind of quality the almighty God exhibited towards mankind, and has also instructed all believers to emulate. In John 3:16 it says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." This verse proves that God is selfless and he loves us as children, he is more concerned with our affairs, needs and desires.
Furthermore, Jesus Christ who came to fulfill the work of the father was very much excellent in all his ministrations. Jesus teaches forgiveness and an indefinite love that he even asked all to bless enemies instead of cursing them, this absolutely is an act of selflessness!
It isn't a good thing to know that so many denominations of the Christian faith have shifted away from this doctrine of Christ. Christianity isn't as easy as all may think, there are many individuals who became converts because they want blessings, happy life, success, and above all they want their enemies defeated. Yet, many of such Christians don't possess a selfless act, love and the spirit of forgiveness which Christ has demanded of us.
To think more on this, there are the less privilege who needs more attention as much as possible, there are also people closer to us being ignored daily not minding their difficult circumstance. Christ exhibited selflessness, hence in Mark 10:21 he told the man who seek for perfection to sell his possessions and give to the poor. On a more serious note, you are to bless others through the blessings of God in your life, this also is an act of selflessness!
