Covenant Mentalities For Delightsome Giving

in #christianity7 years ago

Giving is the biblical way to command God's blessings.

Luke 6:38

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Until you become a giver you can't enter into the fullness of God's blessings for you.

Pro 11:24

There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

But every man is naturally selfish.

To help our giving, we must posses the following mentality.

A. What I'm giving may be leaving my hand, it's not leaving my life. What I'm giving is not a waste, it's a seed bound to yield. I am not giving away, I am investing into my future.

Give, and it shall be given unto you...

B. My returns on giving far outweighs my investment. My fruit will always be better than my seed. My seed sown can't be compared in value with my harvested fruit.

good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.

Notably, fruits are better than seeds most times in cost, size, quantity and quality.

C. My giving is primarily for my change of story. I'm not giving to favour the receiver, I'm giving to favour myself. While the receiver may be blessed, I - the giver is more blessed.

Acts 20:35

I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

So, having these understanding makes giving a delightsome task thereby launching us into realms of God's blessings.

Peace!

So you're giving not out of love for God or for people but because of your own selfish greed. You should expect nothing from God until your giving is out of love.

I love your post. Giving certainly provokes blessing in return. Infact God promised that in His word.
However, God is more pleased, more honoured when we give, not for the sake of receiving, but because we love Him and others. If we give only because we expect to receive, we have done nothing noble, because everyone does that.
God wants to bring us to the point where all our resources are used to honour Him. Then we will be very happy to give them up to others when the need arises.
My point is that: God blesses us when we give our resources to people. But He is more pleased when we give our heart and love to them.
