Confused about Advent? You are not alone!

If the whole concept of Advent conjures up memories of purple candles at church and perhaps a candy calendar at home without any real connection to the deeper meaning then you are firmly positioned within the majority of Western Christians. In reality Advent is intended to be a sort of “reset button” celebrated and contemplated annually by those who choose to live as disciples of Jesus Christ. In December we traditionally celebrate the birth of Jesus or the first Advent as we look forward to the return of Jesus or the second and final Advent.
