Lent is a time when many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and abstinence.

It will always fall on a Wednesday since it is exactly 40 days (excluding Sundays) before Easter Sunday.
There cannot be an “Ash Thursday” or “Ash Monday.

On Ash Wednesday, cinder crosses are marked on the foreheads of the faithful.

It is a time for reflection, a day of fasting and no meat is to be eaten on the day.

For the first time since 1945, Valentine's Day is coinciding with #AshWednesday.

So Happy Valentine's Day, Happy Ash Wednesday and Happy Real Madrid vs PSG Day 😀

A good #Lent begins with paying attention and listening: we have to acknowledge our sin and our humanity. But don’t forget to be joyful – we’re making straight paths for the Lord! As we allow new space in our hearts for Christ’s hope, it will overflow around us. #AshWednesday
