Life to the full!

God is not boring

He is actually better than anything else! The very best the world has to offer is actually boring compared to Him! One taste of God ruins one for anything else. Nothing else compares. Everything else will be boring. That’s how enjoyable God is! The bride calls out for God to touch her with His Word “for your love is better than wine.” (Song of Songs 1:2)

Experiencing the love of God by having Him reveal Himself through His Word is the most exhilarating and satisfying thing we can experience! Wine here speaks of the best things the world has to offer. Drugs, money, fame, sex, video games—anything... none of it compares to the superior pleasures that only God can provide.

The "worst" of God v.s. the "best" of the world

“For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.” (Psalm 84:10)
The very best that the world has to offer doesn’t even compare to the “worst” God has to offer. "For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength." (1st Corinthians 1:25)

The Way

That narrow road—laying down one’s life and following Jesus’ leadership is the best. "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it." (Luke 9:24) “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12) He is the way that leads to life. (Matthew 7:14)

Jesus' mission statement

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." (John 10:10)
Jesus actually wants us to experience pleasure! “In His presence is fullness of joy and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore!” (Psalm 16:11) His love is better than anything else!

Prayer

Encounter me with your love that is better than anything else, Oh God! Ruin my taste buds for anything less than the superior pleasures only YOU can give! I ask for such a powerful encounter with You that would change me forever! Help me to prioritize spending time with you so that I can taste and see of your goodness! Encounter me God! Let me experience the more abundant life You want to give me!
