Be quick to listen slow to speak and slow to anger

James 1:19 let every man shall be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger.

There is so much wisdom just waiting for us written down in Gods breathed word the bible, and this short quote from james is no exception.

How often have you got angry with someone and said something you regret without taking the time to think it over? Not listening to where they are coming from and just blurting things out...me? More times than i would like to admit..

If we put the bibles advice into action everytime we will come out much better for it, most of the time if listen and take it in, think it over and calm down we realise most arguments are silly and pointless anyway..

If we do happen to slip and go down this road doing the excact opposite, which we all will from time to time.

Ephesians 4.26 says

Me and my wife rarely argue which is a great blessing, although there was a time a while back when we were going at it..she said something that really ticked me off and i yelled back turned around kicked what i thought was a foam box in bare feet and near on broke my foot, turned out the box was concrete! I fell to the ground in agony and my wife took me down tonthe hospital after x rays it wasnt broken just major swelling and bruising, i couldnt gonto work for a few days..but we were already having a good laugh of the stupidity of the situation by time we went to bed that night..i wouldnt even have a clue what the argument was about! Could have saved alot of anger, pain and valuable time of doctors and nurses if we had of been putting Gods words in action...but you and live and you learn...

Proverbs 15.18 A hot-tempered man stirs up strife,
But the slow to anger calms a dispute.
