Psalms 2: 10-12

• Below is the decree to the nations about the Son.

Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
And you perish in the way,
When His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

• Be wise, O kings.

The kings of the earth are counseled by the Psalmist to give up their defiance of the Lord, which is foolish. This happens after the words of warning from The Lord's Annointed.

• Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

The kings of the earth are called by the Psalmist to surrender to God, giving God proper reverence. In this submitted, surrendered place they can rejoice, however with appropriate trembling.

• Kiss the Son.

The kiss of submission has this primarily in mind. For instance where an inferior gives a dignitary a humble kiss. It also hints towards or at the affection The Lord God wants in relationship to Him. For us to recognize our proper place before God is what He wants. But to also be affectionate in our relationship and to rejoice in Him.

Kissing was the token of friendship and subjugation

Consider this...

If the judges and kings of the earth are commanded to recognize The Lord's Annointed total superiority, and to humble themselves before The Lord's Annointed, then dear reader, what of the rest of us? Therefore all humanity is included when speaking to the judges and kings.

• Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

• Those who depend on God are BLESSED.

• Those who defy God are BROKEN.

In closing, the choice is left with everyone by The Psalmist...

• Broken
