Living With Excellence
The thing about Christian living is that: Whether we like it or not, we serve as walking billboards of our faith.
We can't escape the fact that we are subjects of the world's criticisms and judgements; and our words, actions, even our backgrounds in school/work/home (disregarding the physical aspect) are key points in attacking us. And there will always and always be eyes and ears that's out there observing and keeping track of our actions wherever we go. So it is a challenge to us Christians to live like Christ -- the very perfect example of how Christian living should be lived on. And as far as God is concerned, we are all called to excel in every facet of life, just as Christ did.
Yes, we are humans, imperfect and vulnerable, and we do have our flaws, but we are also accountable of our acts. Negligence is different from incompetence. What I mean here is that: If you've given your best in something and your best wasn't good enough, then it's okay. You don't have to feel discouraged or disappointed of yourself. God is pleased with your effort. But if you know that you are able to do better than how you're doing right now but you're not doing anything to improve that, then that's a different story.
We can't bless and inspire other people in or out of church if we are living a second-rater life. We can't preach about excellence if we are slacking up in school. We can't be an effective leader if we just sit around and wait for something wrong to come up for us to make a move. We were not bought with a very expensive price just to live a happy-go-lucky life and be wasted. We are made for more! So let's live each day with grace and positivity -- not out of boredom or for survival's sake.
No to mediocrity. Live with excellence! ^^
