Love & Marriage 88 - Keep the romance going - Make a date!

in #christian-trail7 years ago

I do this type of post weekly to remind you to not let the passion and romance die in your marriage. It is crucial for a healthy and happy marriage. So keep the romance going and have lots of fun!

This week I don't want to only give some tips on romantic things to do. In our busy lives, it is crucial to make time for the love of our life. The best way to ensure that we spend some quality time together is to make a weekly date. If there are couples who adhere to a weekly date already then you get 100% for this test.

Children should not be an excuse to not have a date. As a lot of our time goes to our children, it is even more crucial for a couple who have kids to have a date night. See that you get a reliable babysitter.

In previous posts I write about the value of dating and what it will do for your marriage:

• Your relationship will be strengthened by the time spent together, honest communication and making happy memories. All three of these will be provided by dating. A long-lasting marriage is not built on fleeting emotions and occasional passion. It is built on quality time spent together.

In my previous posts that I did on the weekends, I think I have given already about 100 dating ideas.

Some of the most common dates but I think still the favourites of a lot of couples.

  • Go out for dinner, but make it more special and afterwards go to a lookout point over the city. Watch the night lights and kiss in the dark.

  • Go to the movies, but keep the romance. Don't just watch a movie otherwise it doesn't create a connection. Hold hands, put your hand on his leg. Steal a kiss in between. Enjoy the movie but make it about "you".

  • Go dancing or clubbing. Concentrate all your energy on your mate. It creates a lot of energy and passion, let it be the prelude of the foreplay when you come home.

In my opinion, no date night should be concluded without lovemaking. As said above, if you zoom in on your spouse, on your loving feelings it creates the perfect mood for lovemaking later on.

Note to the ladies, if you are looking only for cuddling, any other night will be good for that but don't let your hubby down on date night.
Note to the men: Your lady does need closeness at times without the expectation of sex, be gracious and give this to her.

Next weekend I will continue with creative date strategies.

Make date night a weekly celebration of your love.

Thank you!

Tomorrow night will be our first date night.

aaaah wonderful, enjoy it to the fullest!

Great advice. I head this years ago. A friend of mine did this with his wife from time to time. They are still together today. Smart. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you dear Troy.

Very well written and true. The kids dad and I were married young and never followed this. Our marriage suffered as a result. And then we lost him to cancer.

That type of thing really makes you think. I can say that my relationship with my husband now is much much different. :)
