Achilles' Heel: Man's Greatest Weakness

ACHILLES HEEL: MAN'S GREATEST WEAKNESS

An Achilles' heel is a weakness in spite of overall strength, which can lead to downfall. When taken with levity most people/christian do not believe or know they have a vulnerable spot until it is explored. Let's take a look at some great men of God in the scripture and their moment(s) of weakness that almost cost them a lot of things.

ADAM

And the Lord said it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an helpmeet. - Gen.2:18.

And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. -Gen.2:23

After is the last of the creation and the first man on planet earth. After the creation God knew it won't be good that the man should be alone so he provided a woman made from his bone.
God's relationship with. man was cordial at first, God to come down into the garden to visit them and converse with them before Man's Achilles heel was explored.

And the Man said, The Woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. -Gen. 3:12.

The serpent knew that he could not have convinced Adam successfully to eat the fruit and go against God. He then explore his weakness which was Eve and used her against him. And he succeeded.

Abraham

Abraham has been walking diligently with God. He was faithful and he always listened and obey that which is of the Lord.
God's convenant and blessing has been foretold concerning how prosperous and blessed the offspring of Abraham will be. But he has no child.

And Sarai said unto Abram, behold now, the Lord hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And ABRAM hearkened to the voice of Sarai. - Gen.16:2.

Abraham could not have wake up and just marry if not for the words of Sarah, thereby putting God's convenant at stake. But to the glory of God, the convenant is still intact for Isaac but the effect of his action is still affecting the world; even till this day.

*And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. - Gen. 16:12 *

SAMSON

For Lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head; for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. -Judges13:5

Samson, arguably the most powerful man to ever walk planet earth. Sent and empowered by God to deliver his people from the hands of the Philistines.
He was doing great in his mission killing, destroying, and wrecking havoc to the Philistines in tens of thousands.
The Philistines seeing how great he is came together and held a meeting on how best they can destroy their enemy. After several hours indoor they concluded to exploring his Achilles' heel - Delilah

And the Lord of the Philistines came up unto her, and said unto her: Entice him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what means we may prevail against him; and we will give thee everyone of us eleven hundred pieces of silver. - Judges 16:5

The mighty man of valour now turns to a laughing stock in the midst of the unbelievers.

And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said; Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars. - Judges 16:25.

And the convenant child destined for greatness later perished with his enemies.

And Samson said, let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he sleeps at his death were more than which he slew in his life. -Judges 16:30

In conclusion, Woman made from the bone of Man is his Achilles' heel (Greatest Weakness). In everything we want to lay our hands upon let us seek the face of the Lord and ask for directives before taking steps ans by that we'll have our Achilles' heel guarded by God.
Adam, Abraham, and Samson could have fared better had it been they asked for God's will before their actions.
