This is a really nice verse! It really encourages that good attitude of doing what’s best for everyone including yourself. We are called by God to bring peace and joy into everyone’s life. It’s really painful to watch the way people intentionally hurt each other. You just have to keep in mind that everyday we’re getting one step closer to home.
You're so right. Christians need to be an active force for peace in the world.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Thank you! That's a verse that I, for one, must keep reminding myself of.
We must promote peace....
And peace is only about the absence of war....
May God grant us peace!
We certainly must promote peace. However, I believe that peace is much more than the absence of war.
