haha I fully agree with you.
However, I would push back on your exegesis.
This verse is talking about the blessing of physical and spiritual life that God promised the Jews (and to extent, all of us) who will obey his will.
I agree with you as well that this verse is talking about the blessing of physical and spiritual life that God promised the tribes of Israel.
One of the 10 Commandments that Israel was to follow is:
You shall not commit murder (unjustified, deliberate homicide). The Amplified Version is correct in its translation. The KJV is incorrect - "Thou shalt not kill" doesn't take into account self-defense for both an individual and a nation.
The Northern Kingdom committed child sacrifice as did Manasseh King of Judah which was an abomination in the sight of God.
Wouldn't you agree that dissecting a living and growing pre-born child in the womb, removing the body parts, and then incinerating them or selling the tissue is no less an abomination to God?
