3 UNPARDONABLE SINS
3 UNPARDONABLE SINS
There are three (3) sins that are unpardonable according to the New Testament. I believe the antichrist will encourage his followers to commit all three of these sins. Considering that all these sins foreclose any chance of eternal life, and they also assure eternal damnation, it is very important that we understand what they are, and then avoid them.
- The first unpardonable sin is BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY GHOST!
Mat 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the BLASPHEMY against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
Mat 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
BLASPHEMY: G988, blasphēmia
Thayer Definition:
- slander, detraction, speech injurious, to another’s good name
- impious and reproachful speech injurious to divine majesty
BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY GHOST is fairly self-explanatory. Jesus was performing mighty works and miracles to such an extent that the crowds were openly wondering among themselves whether He might be the son of David, in other words people were beginning to believe that He was the Messiah.
The Pharisee, who had already been conspiring to murder Him, needed an explanation for Jesus’ power over demonic spirits other than Him being the Messiah. Therefore, they accused Him of sorcery, they claimed that Jesus had power over demonic spirits because He was associated with Beelzebub, the prince of devils.
Mat 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
When Jesus heard their accusation, that He was in fact performing miracles by sorcery, He made a reply that turned the tables on the Pharisees. If Satan was divided against Satan, his kingdom would not last very long. Therefore, since Jesus was delivering people from the power of Satan by curing the sick, healing the blind, casting out demonic spirits, etc., etc., it was clear that the source of Jesus’ power was in fact the Spirit of God. It also made something else very obvious:
If Jesus was performing miracles by the power of the Holy Ghost, and the Pharisees were resisting Jesus, who were the Pharisees actually serving?
Then Jesus gave a stern warning to those who were following Him:
Mat 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the BLASPHEMY against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
According to Jesus, slandering the miraculous work of the Holy Ghost was UNFORGIVABLE!
This makes complete sense if we understand the sequence of events leading to our salvation. It is ONLY by the power of the Holy Ghost that we can be saved and sanctified.
Tit 3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
Tit 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Tit 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
There is nothing wrong with good works but they do not have the power to save us, or change us and make us fit to enter into God’s Kingdom. Only the life giving power of the Holy Ghost can transform us into a son of God. If we observe the Holy Ghost healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, raising the dead, and then we blaspheme and reject the manifestation of God’s life giving Spirit, how do we possibly obtain eternal life?
- The second unpardonable sin is RECEIVING THE MARK OF THE BEAST.
Rev 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his MARK in his forehead, or in his hand,
Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

- a stamp, an imprinted mark
1a) of the mark stamped on the forehead or the right hand as the badge of the followers of the Antichrist
1b) the mark branded upon horses
I am not worried about “accidently” receiving the mark of the beast. It is obvious that THE MARK is directly linked to worshipping the beast and his image. According to the Book of Revelation, either you will agree to receive the mark on your forehead or on your hand, or you will die. If you willingly receive the mark of the beast, your fate will be set in concrete, there will be no turning back, there will be no chance for forgiveness. If you receive the mark of the beast, after your death you will spend eternity being tormented in fire and brimstone. If you confess the name of Jesus Christ and refuse the mark, you will have your head cut off…not too difficult a choice if you know Jesus!
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
I have written a whole article about the “mark of the beast” at the following link:

- The final unpardonable sin is FALLING AWAY OR APOSTASY.
Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Heb 6:6 If they shall FALL AWAY, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

2c) to fall away (from the true faith): from worship of Jehovah
We must remember that the Book of Hebrews was written primarily to Jewish believers.
We see in the New Testament that many thousands of Jews converted to Christianity. It was the custom of the Apostle Paul to preach the gospel in synagogues first, and then to preach to the gentiles after he was kicked out of the local synagogue. Many of Paul’s converts were Jewish and they must have found it doubly difficult when they lost most, if not all, of their ties to the local Jewish community.
We also must remember that at the beginning of the Church Age, the Jewish temple was still standing and operating in Jerusalem. Levite Priests were offering burnt offerings every day for individual sins and there was still a High Priest entering into the Holy of Holies once a year on the Day of Atonement to offer blood for the nation of Israel’s sins. The Apostle Paul was explaining to Jewish believers that the temple in Jerusalem and the Levitical Priesthood was only a shadow of something exponentially more significant.
The Apostle Paul explained that Jesus Christ is our eternal High Priest. Jesus offered His own blood in the very courts of heaven. The blood of Jesus was perfect and complete. His blood covered all sins; past, present, and future. It is the ONLY sacrifice ever needed or ever wanted by God. Paul explained that offering the blood of sheep, goats, and bulls never actually covered anybody’s sins, either in the past or in the future. The blood of animals cannot save us!
Heb 10:4 For it is NOT POSSIBLE that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
Heb 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
Heb 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
God took no pleasure in the suffering and death of animals. The Old Testament ordinances and sacrifices were simply an attempt to illustrate the great, great cost that God would have to bear for our sin, because He was the ONLY ONE who could actually pay the price and bear the consequences of our sin. Perhaps Abraham came closest to understanding the price of sin.
Gen 22:7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
Gen 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering:
God did indeed provide a Lamb, not only for Abraham and Isaac, but for the whole world. Why is the world so full of suffering? Sin and suffering go hand in hand. Sin is the root and cause of all our suffering, and sin also causes God to suffer, perhaps more than we will ever know. When Jewish believers contemplated going back to the temple sacrifices and ordinances, perhaps because they missed their families and their communities, or perhaps they grew tired of persecution, the Apostle Paul gave the early Jewish believers an emphatic warning.
Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
When Jewish believers, or gentile believers for that matter, returned back to their old religious observances, (sinning, making a blood sacrifice, and then sinning again) they were publically despising the ONLY sacrifice that can and does actually pay the price for sin, the ONLY sacrifice that cleanses us from sin, and satisfies God’s perfect justice.
Why is this third unpardonable sin so important? After all, the Jews have not had a temple or temple observances in nearly two-thousand (2000) years.
The Temple Institute is zealously preparing for the rebuilding of the third temple. Many Christians are actually donating to this project. I hope if you donate to rebuilding a third temple, that you realize you are NOT doing the Jews any favors. I believe the antichrist will also encourage Israel to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem. Satan would love for the Jewish people to begin sacrificing sheep, goats, and bulls again, because Satan also despises the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. The building of the third temple will probably signify the beginning of the seven (7) years just prior to the return of Jesus Christ.
I suspect the antichrist will encourage sinning, making a blood sacrifice, and then sinning again, by his followers. Satanism is one of the few religions that still encourages its followers to offer blood sacrifice. The antichrist will demand that his followers take his mark and bow down to worship him. He will search out, persecute, and attempt to destroy any miraculous move of the Holy Ghost. He will attempt to stop the manifestation of the sons of God with all the power at his disposal.
Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
