M.I Abaga & DJ Lambo Takes Choc City on The Road for Control The Economy Tour

M.I Abaga, DJ Lambo, Diles Ailes, nearly the entire Chocolate Boys Nation are all headed out for the tour of various cities in Nigeria, amongst those cities was Ilorin, located in the state of Harmony, Kwara State. The Control The Economy Tour which took place during the course of this year’s summer kicked off on June 17 at the Succoth Garden in Ilorin, which will then follow stops in other notable cities like Lagos, Oyo, Abuja, Plateau, Kano, Rivers and many others within the Country, Nigeria.

Following different breakouts within the past years – 2018 for some of the artists in the musical label, such as M.I Abaga bagging home the award for “Lyricist on the Roll” during the Headies award, 2018. Also label colleagues like Diles Ailes who joined the label few years ago, getting nominated for the “Rookie of the year” was a major for him in 2016. He took his tide with a new wave with the record “OTEDOLA” that went a long way in the past year, and with a featured track with M.I Abaga on “Your Father”.
In Nigeria, musical concerts are mostly held in bumpin’ locations like Lagos State and Abuja in the F.C.T, however, this type of concert was not expected, it is indeed a significant first and definitely would open for more of its kind in the city of Ilorin. The "Control The Economy Tour" came right after the weekend of the Eid celebration in Ilorin, with the involvement of certain and exquisite brands brought out a successful event at the end. Though the concert was scheduled for a 3pm, whatever happened to make it an all-night event, made it a fire concert.

DJ Sleek got his booth set up and played for couple of hours to get the show kicking before the artists arrived, shouts out to him for doing what he does best. While fans around were busy hanging out and trying to have fun, some losing their cool, Choc City them buzzed in and brought the game on, creating lots of moments, facial reactions and giving the fans the most chilled feeling.

Lights, Camera, Action! Tour begins, young artists popping on and off the stage with wonderful performances, artists like Joules’daKid, Street Billionaires, Blaqbonez performing one out of many singles “Bad Boy”, Other artists like Ckay were on stage with great performances, lots of feelings were felt in the environment and were in fact, great. Also, in-house artists like Major AJ, Kash and many more.

However, you can’t have a label tour without the top dawg himself putting up a show, yung denzel, the man himself, M.I, also came up stage and performed couple of his songs, most of them fan favourites, greater moments when you have the crowd finish your lines for you, damn! M.I went back in time and brought songs like Oleku, One Naira, Nobody and many others. He switched up the moment when he brought up stage a fan, someone I would like to call a hottie, the light skin shawty had the sassy charisma that M.I could vibe with, she made a wish and he granted it.
