Chitlang- The Hiking Destination

Chitlang is the village declared as Tourism area in 2011,near Kathmandu just 13 kms from Thankot. An ancient silk road also famous as gateway of first car in Nepal provides amazing experience with the combination of natural beauty and cultural heritage. It is good destination for trekking too with heart warming scenary.

Public Transit
The journey begins from Old Bus Park and head towards Godam(Thankot).It will charge Npr 25 from Old Bus Park to Godam. After reaching Godam, route no 20. Zeeps and buses are available from Godam (Thankot) to Chitlang at NPR 120/- per person.

Hiking
If you intend to hike through forest conquering hills, then it will take 2-3 hours depending on pace. But first, you need to reach Godam by public transit as mentioned above. The stunning sceneries of lush forest, Kathmandu valley and the Himalayas in the north takes your breath away. There are various meadows to graze the cattle around the village. Different temples with artistic creation, pagoda roofs and unique craftsmanship offer fascinating charm.

Homestay

Gurjudhara Homestay is named after one of the oldest Dhunge-dhara of the district where Maha-Kavi Laxmi Prasad Devkota got inspired and composed the famous poem 'Yatri'.
