What's the implication of the G7 purported $600 billion global infrastructure plan to rival China's BRI?

Heres the thing

Whenever you invest money - To Rival someone else Work - It always fails.

It means you have Zero Vision. All you are doing is copying someone else and pouring money.

Let me illustrate:-

China has a End to End Infrastructure Industry
Everything is Domestic. From Drillers, Excavators, Cranes, Structural Beams, Concrete Mixers, Grade I-V Steel, Industrial Steel, Carbon Impinged Steel, Wrought Iron, Levellers, Cement, Graded Concrete, Graded Rubble, Reinforced Concrete, Steel Bars for Reinforced Concrete and Perfect Hierarchy of Skilled Labor from Lowest Workers to Masons to Quarrymen to Foremen to Supervisors to Engineers to Coordinators

You build an Airport in Iraq- You can bring materials all ordered from China at lowest costs and do the Job wonderfully.

The West has ZILCH - ZERO

Almost everything has to be imported. From China most of the time or Russia or at far higher costs from Japan and South Korea.
Take Simple Grade I-V Industrial Steel - Russia is the only affordable European Steel and that costs 1.85 times more than China. India and Vietnam dont make Industrial Grade Steel I and II but import it. The Only other supplier is Japan. Japanese Grade I and II Steel is 3.87 times more expensive than Chinese Steel. Even after tariffs are reduced and if WHO turns a blind eye - its still 2.16 times more expensive

Likewise Cement? Maybe they'll import from India

How about Labor? How many Masons will Switzerland or Canada or France or Germany or Austria provide?

China has 226000 Skilled Equipment Operators

Guess how many Germany has? Around 4000

Guess how many all the Western Nations (G7) Have combined? Around 20,000
Can you really pay a German $ 215 a week like you can pay a Chinese Skilled Worker? Of course not. The Rate in Germany is around $ 825 a week

Result: A $ 3.5 Billion Expressway by a chinese Company delivered in 30 months will cost $ 8.6–9.5 Billion and will be delivered in 65–70 months.

So who the Hell will opt for such projects - Unless the West offers it Free of Cost?

And if the West Subsidizes even 25% of BRI Projects at their price - That's $ 195 Billion subsidies meaning $ 600 Billion is actually $ 795 Billion!!!!

That will Accelerate the Decline of the West

Its STUPID for the West to match or compete with China in areas where China can crush them competitively

Instead the West should aim for High Tech, High Tech, High Tech and only High Tech where they still hold a lead over China for the time being.
Who knows…with Senile Old Joe and these Jokers in charge - This Lead may vanish in the next Decade
