Insights after I lost and found my phone in Shenzhen.
My iphone 7 fell at the back seat of the taxi in Shenzhen, China.
We went and complaint to Lost & Found department of the Shenzhen Transport Information Service Co.
And with just 2 parameters : time( +-15 mins) and location of pickup, they were able to tell me the taxi number and taxi service contact details.
After 4 days of Taxi service investigation, I got my phone back.
Sharing some insights and musings about my China visit and whole lost and found episode.
Insights:
- When in China, use local sim data and Wechat to pay for services.
- You need to have translater( digital or local) with you. Very few people know english.
- Chinese surveillance system rocks!! They can find out anything about you.
- Generally, Chinese people were helpful and jovial.
- 4 days off social media helped me to understand its addictive powers.
- I realised I need to work on diverse dopamine secretion. Currently that rush we get only from social media.
- We should travel to understand cultures and learn about thyself. We can study how we behaved in unknown situation.
- If you want to work on negotiation skills go to China and shop.
- iphone 7 without cover is very slippery, it is designed in such a way that phone cases markets thrive.
- Take walks in new cities, we are designed to grasp maximum information of the surroundings when we are walking ( 5-10 Kmps)
