Let's bring hope to others
I recently decided to start volunteering at a place for abandoned and sick babies and children. I have only worked there for 3 weeks and those children has changed my whole perspective of life.
Some of the children are between 2 and 4 years old and then there is 2 one year olds and of course the babies.
In my second week of working there, while I sat and played with some of the children I little girl crawled up to me and wanted to stand against me for support. She smiled the whole time. When it was time for them to get in the cots for bed it was as if something broke inside of her. She couldn't stop crying. Just before I had to go home, the new ladies came in for their shift. I heard that the girl only came in the day before and was going to court the next day. (All of the children have to be placed in this care centre by the court). It was also her birthday that day. My heart broke into pieces when I heard this. I know understood why she was crying. She didn't want to be abandoned again and she didn't want to be alone.
The next week when I got there the little girl was lying on the mat playing with some of the toys. I wouldn't say she looked very happy, but she didn't cry anymore.
I really hope that her parents will go for counselling and that she can return to her home. She is so little and every child just wants to belong.
Together we can change the world and help little children find a little bit of love.
