[RUN Children Time #2] Football

Hello STEEMIT. Adding on to our previous post, we’ll continue getting to know the children.

As much as the children enjoy reading stories and comic books, they like to play outside the orphanage. When the weather is nice, children head outside and engage in outdoor activities such as jump ropes, hide and seek, etc. Of all the different activities, children’s favorite recreation is football.

Uganda has embraced a variety of sports such as cricket, tennis, rugby, baseball and among them, football is foremost when it comes to sheer popularity. The Uganda national football team “Uganda Cranes”, controlled by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations, is loved dearly by citizens of Uganda. They have never qualified for the FIFA World Cup finals, but they have taken the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Cup a staggering 13 times.

Some of the RUN children may be secretly dreaming of becoming a football player. Until the day children fulfill their dreams, we will RUN.
