PROTECT YOUR FEMALE CHILD FROM ABUSERS

Trust we all had a good week? My brother’s wife handled the saddest Child Abuse case this week and it got me devastated. So I thought to share with everyone here for us to be more careful and see child protection as a serious business.

I woke up on Thursday morning to see a message on my phone that I should report in UCH by 7am in a particular ward. On getting there, I got the shock of my life, a minor, female child of 1 year and 10 months was defiled by a 19 year old boy. The incident happened on Wednesday evening when the mother brought the girl from school to her tailoring shop and this particular boy named (Wale) who is a sale's rep near her shop requested to go and play with the child. The mother said even the child refused to go with him (meaning the boy had been attempting it before then), the mother said after a while, the boy took the child forcefully like play like play and said you must play with me today, don't disturb your mother, let her do her sewing and took the child away. After a few minutes, the mother heard the child crying and was shouting Wale (perpetrator) bring my child o, did she fall? She said when she didn't see them coming and the cry was louder, she stood up with her measuring tape, to go and beat the boy to let her child come to her, and lo and behold she met her daughter at the entrance of the boy's shop in tears looking at the boy. She picked her up and discovered there was blood all over her, raised her dress and found out her pant was soaked with blood.

At that time, she started screaming for help and neighbors gathered to check the girl and told the mother that the little girl had just been raped. They undressed the boy, and found sperm and blood on his private part, at that time, the mother fainted.

As at the time I got to surgery pediatric ward with my team on Thursday morning, the girl was still bleeding, even though she had been cleaned up with necessary medical stuff. She has been scheduled for a surgery for repair of laceration, While the perpetrator is with the state CID for prosecution

Lesson :the deed has been done, only God could heal the poor girl and console the mother, because she's so devastated. As parents, we need to be security conscious with our children especially females. Do not leave them with any uncle or neighbors.

Don't leave them alone at home lesson teachers. I have handled many cases of abuse (sexual, physical and emotional) I have never seen this kind of brutality before. May the Lord continue to keep our children. Amen.
