At the end of the spring and early summer, chicken pox are getting affected by many. This contagious disorder can spread very quickly. This disease is caused by Viricella Joster virus. People of any age group may be infected by chicken pox, but in particular the rate of infant mortality in children under the age of 12 is higher. Usually, once the disease is attacked, the chance of being attacked twice in the rest of the life is very low. Because once it is attacked, resistance to the body will be developed against the disease.

Symptoms begin within 8 to 21 days of the chicken pox germs entering the body. The symptoms of the disease usually start with fever, headache and colds. After two to three days, small panicles of water can be seen on the skin. They are usually reddish brown and some scratchy. At the stomach, back or face, the first pigment begins, which can later spread to all the body. Within two to four days the grains are filled with water like liquid and some are brown in color. Occasionally the pus could be caused due to infection. Within a few days the grains burst and dried and black brown. This time the itching may increase. The disease usually lasts for 7 to 10 days. Many times patients with chicken pox can have bacterial infections simultaneously. Then the wound may be created.

The patient with chicken pox should keep the rest as much as possible. The family members should be kept separate from the other members, especially the children. Normal paracetamol should be used for the treatment of fever. Antihistamines also have to be used for itching. Antivirals such as acetylchloricides may also be used.
