@SchoolForSDG4, crowdfunding for school supplies and excess funds for emergencies. Nr.9
Life has run forever and it always will do just that. No matter my whims and wishes or my own limits. I barely made it to writing this post for the second week in a row. Last week was another first of mine. I skipped a charity post. My hands have been full of life and dreams. Hopes and expectations. I am certain my hectic behaviour will last until the new year. Probably at least a week after that.
But I come bearing some good news as well. I have a date set for when my things will be moved. I legally own an apartment. And some work is being done on it as of this moment. Well, maybe not anymore today, it is late in the evening in Latvia so it might be empty now. You know what is funny? I was raised by a man that put a lot of insecurities in me. Let's call him the father of my brother. Because he is. This man was quite strict and I feared him even though he never put a finger on me. He was just intimidating and I sensed that if he was pushed, he would break. Thus, I walked on eggshells while we lived with him. But there is not only the bad he gave me. He taught me a lot of things, built them in my character. I do not do nonsense because of him. I have won the fight against the insecurities he created and it has turned me into a better, stronger me. For that I am thankful.
After my mom and husband nr.2 broke up, I thought I would never speak to him again. I never liked him as a child. But years shifted my view and I learned to let go. I realized that after all, he put more good in me than bad, no one is perfect. And it seems fate is giving me a chance to see husband nr.2 in a different light. He is older now. More fragile in his physical form. He is not scary to me anymore. Right now, he is the one doing the work in my apartment and we have to talk. It has given me a gift of a new perspective and a chance to fully let go any pent-up emotions.
The SBD/STEEM from this post will go to the @SchoolForSDG4 account. The Steem Power will stay with me, @lindahas. It will be used later on to help fund my trip to Sylhet, Bangladesh and do something useful in real life.
So, about those kids! A drawing competition took place on the 16th of December. It was organized to celebrate The Victory Day of Bangladesh. The little ones sat together and drew what was in their hearts. And there was enough paper for them to put out all of it! Their creativity, their childish wonder, worries, and hopes. And, after all of it, the three best paintings created were announced after the competition and the top artists received toys as rewards for their beautiful work.
The annual exam has also been written and the results will be disclosed to the little ones on the 25th of December. The school will be off until then but the teachers will come to school to prepare the test results. Moreover, Mohammed (@Azizbd) held the monthly mothers meeting on the 17th of December. It created a chance for him to share some future plans with the parents of the kids and get some feedback. Find out the expectations of the moms of the kids in school.
All of the women want their children to continue their education and thus many of them have to look for another place that offers post-elementary school education. As most of you know, @SchoolForSDG4 teaches kids only on the elementary level. Regardless of that, Mohammed has stated that he will organize classes for class three if the moms cannot find free or affordable options for their little ones. It will be harder with where the crypto price is at the moment but it is doable if the school cuts down on additional expenses. After all, education is what matters here so I do not think it is a bad short-term solution. Crypto is bound to go up and I am sure the school will do better when it does.
The school will open for admission applications from 25th of December, 2018. Parents will be able to register their children for a period of time. Later, Mohammed will visit their homes in the slums, to verify their financial conditions and needs. The school strives to try and help those who are most in need, thus the need for the admission process to be how it is.
All the pictures are recent and provided by @Azizbd. any questions about the project can be resolved with him if you are interested in helping this project and have any idea about how to make it better. He will even get up at 4 AM just to talk to somebody about ideas. Here is a link to his Steemit chat: https://steemit.chat/direct/azizbd.
If you would like to contribute by making a post, you can contact Mohammed (@azizbd) and he will provide pictures for you. Anyone spreading the word is welcome. The income from the post can be sent to @schoolforsdg4. Even a small donation from your posts means a lot to those kids.
If you have any Steem that you want to gift, donations are welcome. @SchooForSDG4 is where you want to send them. If you can't spare any Steem, because I know everybody has their lives to live and expenses that need to be covered, a simple upvote is very much appreciated. A resteem is encouraged.
