Helping At Risk Communities to Servive

My husband and I know what it is like to have lost your home and land so when we were approached by a company who needed a system to aid the at risk communities find resources we were thrilled. We put hours into the project but unfortunately the company did not have the funds to proceed so we decided to do the projects our selves. We have the skillsets.

In 2002 during the .COM Bust we lost our home and our land because we could not complete the contract for deed. We purchased our land without using any banking system and we paid it all off except for $7300.00. we could not find work, Companies could not get bank loans to hire so we took a big hit

We never recovered that loss but were able to build ourselves up again, We moved into a Loft in Cincinnati Ohio and was able to find contract work in Ohio, Chicago and Wisconsin

Unfortunately then the 2008 economic downturn hit and we lost everything again !! Fortunately, for the second time we went from being homeless to being HAPPY today in our small apartment though we hang on each day never knowing what will come next!

My husband, Ibrahim is a 32 year software architect and developer, Former Microsoft MVP 5 years consecutive and is published by QUE, Fawcett, Addison Wesley, McMillian, Waite Group and others.

Since then my husband was hospitalized in coma related to a blood clot. He is doing much better today but traveling for his work is almost out of the question for us. So we do what we can in this small town.

With the predicted economic down turn possibly approaching there are many people who need a little assistance to help which could enable them to help others thus relieving the burden on society.

One day a gentleman came to us with something of this idea. So we had spent many hours preparing Vision Statement, Requirements, Use Case documentation and a Prototype / laying out the Architecture but sadly he could not afford the project. The idea of this project brought back the memories of being homeless and we could not just walk away from the idea so we decided to move forward with it ourselves and expand it considerably. It is a very large undertaking so we need help.

Here in New Mexico it gets quite cold during the winter months, in some places 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit below zero and at the most recent count there are 15,000 homeless people here. In addition to the homeless there are a lot of households that are at or below the poverty level just trying to make ends meet. Senior Citizens on fixed incomes are also included in this low income-poverty class that comprise these At-Risk communities.

There are agencies, faith based and non-profits that provide services and relief to these folks that are at the bottom of our economic strata in America. The problem is that often the members of these At-Risk communities do not know how to access or find these services made available to them so we will make things easy for organizations to assist them. In some cases websites are so complicated making things difficult also there is a lot of information spread out over the net so we want to consolidate the information making things easy.

There are also a class of Case-Workers and other professionals whose efforts are centered around finding the resources available for alleviating the travails of the At-Risk communities who also need more efficient and comprehensive access to information about what is available to their client’s needs. We intend to add administrative pages making it easy for Case-Workers to log in and keep information updated until then we are doing it ourselves.

The New Mexico Coordinated Resource Guide (www.NMCRG.Net) provides an easy to research listing of all kinds of services and agencies that provide some kind of relief for the At-Risk Communities in New Mexico. It has been in existence for about 2 months and has been surviving on out of pocket funding by us.

It is our goal to incorporate it as a 501(c) non profit with the hope that it will grow into a valuable resource for the community it serves.

The NMCRG Project needs funding to continue operations and to grow its services and curating of information about what is available the NM At-Risk communities.
