Lucky or Unlucky difficult to tell

in #charity6 years ago

Who did I bribe so that I would be formed in my mother’s womb? Develop from an ovum and slowly by slowly evolve into a little human being. Should I count myself lucky that I was born whole and without any deformity? The people born with deformities or incapacities, do they have anyone they can blame? What are some of us who feel lucky do to help those born with special needs and conditions?

We visited a certain home with people with special needs and it got me thinking what more can I do to serve these beautiful souls? Imagine spending the rest of your life confined in a bed and day in and day out you never get a chance to see visitors apart from your caregiver?

This visit was done a while ago and I can vividly remember one of the appeals of the caregivers. “This children love visitors, you don’t have to carry anything to come and see them, your presence alone is enough”. This to me was an obvious indication that the society had forgotten these beautiful souls.

Despite their situation they know how to smile to visitors

In the video below I made a friend who surprisingly even knows how to communicate in English and is so passionate about drawing. The most amazing thing about them is that they don’t feel sorry about their situations but are utilizing every opportunity they get to smile. I experienced the most beautiful smiles from them.

Today I am here to challenge us. What are we doing to show love to the community. Have a look at the below video and from it you can gather that they need more beds to accommodate more girls, since most of them can’t use the bathroom pampers are needed in big quantities, they are in constant need of medication , they need to be shown love through frequent visits and are in need of more caregivers. Which area can you assist in? This home is located in Langata kenya and it is called Langata Mother Teresa home. If around you can always plan to pop in and say hi to them.
