A Call for Genuine Quality Content on Steemit
This is a call to everyone on this platform to think bigger and help the platform succeed, not just hack the system to make a few bucks.
If you read this, take it seriously, and help me echo this message, we'll all make more money via this platform and have a way better experience doing it.
Let me set this up, first. The benefits of Steemit monetizing user content is HUGE, right? Wow.
That's what draws so many people here. That's what drew me here too—POTENTIAL to flip the whole online content system into something that makes WAY more sense.
It's no Reddit today, but it can easily be the new standard of online content, if we do it right.
But I genuinely believe it takes everyone involved on the ground floor (yes, you, me, and all the other active users here too) to make this platform what it can be.
Compared to platforms like Reddit, Medium, or other forum/blog platforms, there's direct incentive for the first real time to spend time creating and curating quality content online.
That's HUGE.
Take Facebook. You post for free, your friends read for free, then Facebook sells your attention to advertisers and they make money.
You get paid in "Likes."
Here, you get paid in actual currency.
Outside of getting paid directly for writing marketing content or sales copy, there are few ways to get paid directly for your content like this.
Massive potential, right?
Still, based on what I'm seeing here today, this can go one of two ways:
1) Steemit becomes the new place to post, learn, find community, and more.
This is ideal.
2) Steemit becomes full of bot-spiked mediocre content...
Then, the algorithms push that mediocre content to the top. New users create accounts, look through the feed, see that mediocre content, and go back to Facebook, Reddit, and Medium.
This is NOT ideal.
The whole platform needs to do well for any one user to do well.
So here's my point:
The best thing you can do right now to maximize your profit in the long-term is to post great content today and help the whole platform rise.
If the community keeps boosting crappy content with bots, only talks about Crypto or Steemit, and focuses on money vs. good content, the platform won't succeed.
Then, all the crypto everyone is making will be worthless.
Help Just You Win = No One Wins.
Help Steemit Win = Everyone Wins.
"I vow to only post things I believe will be a genuinely helpful addition to the community."
Please, for the sake of the platform and all of our wallets, do the same.
POST QUALITY CONTENT.
