Between Fog | Macro Photography Gallery of the Tiger Spider (Argiope argentata)
Hello Friends of Steemit.
This time I bring you another gallery of my work on photos in the Macro style, taken inside a path next to my workplace, in a typical morning, accompanied by a very dense fog and cold climate, characteristic of the mountainous area within the limits of Los Altos Mirandinos, Venezuela, at about 1800 meters above sea level, and again, waiting to enter my workplace.

On that morning in June, in the free time that awaited the opening of the center where I work, take that moment to enter a nearby path, to walk a while. And it is when, amid the mist, the drizzle and cold wind, I see the cobweb moved by the wind whose filaments held small drops that adhered because of the mist that crossed it, and in the middle, the architect of that work of art and engineering, a Tiger Spider (Araneomorphae - Argiope Argentata) of about 5 cm in span, very common in this area.

A little more about this species: as described by Nicolas Olejnik, from the Argentine Museum of Natural Sciences "Bernardino Rivadavia".
- Description: Large and conspicuous spider. The females present a striking silver, yellow and black coloration. Its coloration, size and characteristic shape of the abdomen make it an easily identifiable species. The typical position forming an X with the four pairs of legs is also a characteristic feature, although shared with other species of the same family. The ootheca (egg sac) is covered with a thick layer of green silk and can be found under a sheet on the side of the fabric.
- Sexual Dimorphism: Very remarkable in this species. The females are several times larger than the males and are seen more frequently. The male usually goes unnoticed due to its small size, however it is usually observed in the same cloth as the female.
- Environment: Inhabits mainly in grasslands and open areas. It is also frequent in urban gardens. Geographical
- Distribution: Species of wide distribution in America. It is abundant throughout the center and north of the country.
- Behavior: Sedentary, you remain stationed in its orbicular fabric, which can be large in adult specimens, waiting for prey.
- Feeding: Insects that get trapped in its fabric.
- Family: Araneidae
- Order: Araneae
- Class: Arachnida
- Phylum: Arthropoda
- Animalia Kingdom
