The Facebook, Google/YouTube, Apple, Spotify and Stitcher Conspiracy Against InfoWars/AlexJones

in #censorship6 years ago (edited)

Social media and tech giants have conspired to silence the InfoWars/Alex Jones message and content today. In what seems like a coordinated effort of a 12 hour span, Facebook, Google/YouTube, Apple, Spotify and Stitcher have blacklisted or banned InfoWars or Alex Jones from their platforms.

Whether you agree or disagree with -- like or hate -- Alex Jones or InfoWars, this coordinated attack could spell the beginning of more media bias against independent media. It could have been that one just followed the lead of the other, but for all of them to remove IW/AJ content within hours is suspect and looks like a coordinated effort to send a message.

When people get together to do something, when they plot, unite and agree to "breathe" the same agenda in secret, it's a conspiracy. Conspire comes from the root "com" together + "spire" to breathe. It means to breathe together, the spirit of intent, the breath that motivates action.

Facebook, Google/YouTube, Apple, Spotify and Stitcher are conspiring to censor and ban an independent media voice online. A conspiracy to silence someone isn't a crime, but it's still a conspiracy to bring that agenda to fruition.

If they each had issues with InfoWars or Alex Jones, they wouldn't have engaged in a collective timed action against him. Each platform would have addressed the issue on their own, in their own time. How long before other independent media outfits are targeted the same way, all because the platforms don't like what the person talks about?

YouTube has been terminated accounts all year. YouTube and Facebook both issues warnings or temporary bans last week against AJ/IW. It seemed like a ban was imminent. But for not only both of them to act on the same day, but 3 other platforms, wreaks of mischief.

Who's next to follow YouTube or Facebook? Will other platforms shadow-ban, blacklist or outright ban alternative health content and accounts next, like Facebook has already been doing? Twitter has been shadow banning conservative-leaning content, and YouTube has been terminated many of those pages, with Facebook banning accounts as well. If we don't stand by people's right to speak informational content in an online market, anyone can be on the chopping block next.

AJ/IW, and other pages like SGTReport and more, have no recourse once they get removed from social media sites. The tech giants have welcomed users to create their popularity as open to anyone to speak anything (so long as it doesn't excite violence against others). And now, they are using their positions to blacklist certain content and users who they don't agree with.

But originally, they had no issue letting them in, so long as new users helped them grow in popularity and make more money. Now that they have dominance, they can get rid of the pesky people they don't want around. This could be just the beginning of an online purge of content that goes against the grain of the mainstream narrative.

First they came for InfoWars/Alex Jones, and we didn't do anything because weren't them. But tomorrow, we could all be the next IW/AJ if they don't like what we talk about and choose to censor or ban us. After years of the social media "Golden Age" of opportunity to network and connect in a wide market, are we now entering the "Dark Ages"?

Thank you for your time and attention. Peace.

That is the truth of it. The sad thing is, there are people who will become targets themselves who are probably celebrating this right now. If we hope to retain our own freedom, we have to protect the freedom of everyone else, even if we don't like or agree with them, or so I think anyway.

That being said, I wish he would come here. I know we are small potatoes compared to the kind of attention he is used to getting but, man, it would be great for the site.

Yeah, a lot of ppl don't like AJ, and don't really care. A typical response is you have the right to free speech, but not to access a platform. But that's not the point that they are missing :/ Ppl go to a market to attract attention, and the social medias have the most ppl in their markets...

Very true. The platform argument is gets weaker and weaker everyday though. These platforms are becoming more of a utility as time goes on.

Important topic and well covered in this post. Gladly re-steemed!

It's back to 1984!

Eventually though, these social giant behemoths will drive everyone out and will become irrelevant; it's only a matter of time. People are hungry for the truth and they will migrate to where it is not suppressed.

Well, they may not drive everyone out, since most don't care about the alt media, or do they? As long as they don't talk about objectionable things to the extent as others, they will be safe...

I know many don't care for him, but he was my gateway to the truther stuff years ago. I will admit I stopped watching him as he grew more dramatic and grew his line of products for sale.

An observation here. I keep reading about censorship from the left by organizations that are left leaning. For all the talk of outrage by the "leaders" on the right, where is there money to build platforms for their audience? Am I the only one who sees that maybe many of these leaders are only feigning horror at the censorship? Seems there would be a lot of money to be made when half the population is being censored, yet I don't see these wealthy "conservatives" rushing forward with their money.

Yup, my gateway too. Without his material, like the first I cam across TerrorStorm which woke me up, then I wouldn't be here as I am today. I stopped listening after 9 months too, as I saw some BS in how he was trying to get funds, guilt tripping people. But he's done a lot for the awakening of ppl, like me.

I guess the rich conservatives don't really care about making a platform for the right ;) There is however, https://real.video Check that out.

Talking about the social media purge, I experienced one on twitter the other month, when numerous accounts were banned for flimsy reasons.
There has been a covert war on freedom of speak/expression but now the big corporations and media giants are taking the war to the people and there is no holding back.
Something similar happened on steemit some months back, when a certain account was flagged for expressing his opinion about dislike of how the platform is been ran.
I believe this social media purge is a step backwards, if we consider all battles that have been fought to give people the opportunity/right to speak freely (without malice of course).

Yeah, it is tough and I have been shadow banned and many things. I am feeling you.

Yeah twitter is out of control on the terminating of accounts it seems. Yes, flagging is crap. I've had the brunt of being targeted by whales for talking about issues and against their behavior. For posting things they don't agree with.

They are slowly eroding a free speech mentality. It's all along with the plan I think. They are eroding the values that have been so closely recognized with being an American. Gun rights, free speech, free choice of many things. They are just using this stuff to slowly break down the younger generation to be more accustomed to these draconian moves.

Obey your masters of the corporatocracy.

I think it's important to instill these values in our children still. The best way is to make sure they understand these freedoms are vital for the future of humanity.

The sad thing is people will fall right into the trap, and look to government for a solution. Government has caused this problem on purpose because they know when the people ask for a solution it will give the government full control over speech, freedom of the press, and whom they choose to censor. Problem-> Reaction-> Solution-> Control= Death?

Yup, don't go to the govt for the solution, unless it's to help protect rights. Some governments have established rights to free speech, but you don't see free speech being taken down by them. They can, but not necessarily.

There are several instances that contradict this statement. How many times in history has a peaceful protest turned into government violence?

What almost everyone is forgetting and nobody is addressing though is the ROOT CAUSE of the problem.

I've just made a post explaining what it is and what we can do about it:

Mass Censorship: The Real Root of the Problem...(and what to do about it)

"Each platform would have addressed the issue on their own, in their own time."

Nailed it. The coordinated nature of the ban is what really freaked out a lot of people. This event must have been planned well in advance!!

EDIT: In any case, Steemians should be rejoicing at these draconian bans. It just ensures platforms like Steemit will continue to grow.

Steem needs to scale better for more ppl to connect. I've been getting lots of connection issues with the platform these past few days :/

Is there some kind of official explanation about why this happened?

It is clearly not normal for all of those social media site to take the same decision on the same day. Why would they be interested in silencing that guy?

I was not a fan of Alex Jones, but I did know he had a lot of followers. This is clearly an elaborated attack against him.

Why do you think this is happening @krnel?

To get rid of unfavorable topics being discussed under the guise of hate speech for the betterment of everyone. AJ is a big figure that ppl don't like for various reasons. Getting rid of him makes some ppl happy.

Good thing there's Steem and Dtube! This could be a nice catalyst for blockchain based Social Networking platforms.

Yup, ppl need to learn about it though
