The astronomical phenomenon Parhelio, better known as "The three suns" or "Sundog" in English, occurs in many parts of the world thanks to the tiny helium crystals found in the clouds.

This optical phenomenon associated with the refraction of sunlight is very similar to haloes or rainbows, however, is not as common as the latter. To form a parhelium, the clouds, full of helium particles, must be between 5 and 10 kilometers high, drifting, to be illuminated generate the simultaneous appearance of several images of the sun.

These images in the sky are often seen as bright and even colorful spots. A couple of years ago, this phenomenon was observed with alarm because it could represent "the end of the world".

The word Parhelio comes from the Greek (parēlion), which means "next to the sun" and because of its position in the sky with respect to the sun, it is known as "the three suns". Here we list some impressive images of the dogs of the sun or three suns.

In China, this phenomenon is called "Shuanggua'er", which means "sun with two ears".
