The Black Theater
Is a scenic representation characterized by being performed in a dark space, in which black or ultraviolet light highlights the fluorescent colors.
It was the Black Theater of Prague that gave him popularity and popularity and where they began to use lights, shadows, mime and acrobatics in a better way; but the technique was already known in China.
The staging is done in a totally dark space, a black stage as a whole and in special conditions to use ultraviolet light, commonly called black light, which causes fabrics, materials and colors to stand out.
The contrasts of light in the dark allow people and objects in black to become virtually invisible, in the same way that any fluorescent material appears.
The result is a scenic miracle.
The Black Theater technique involves sequence planning, creation of objects, an organization of the movement of invisible actors on the stage and the entry and exit of objects. Music plays a very important role.
The elements that are used to make characters, props and details are fluorescent colored cardstock, white cardboards, fluorescent fabrics, materials such as foam rubber that can then be dyed with fluorescent sprays, white gloves ...
The actors of the Black Theater are dressed in black, even with hoods and black gloves.
At the time of the performance, the actors are placed on the stage completely black and in front of the black light. This black light comes from a special light tube that you can buy in hardware stores.
Ultraviolet lighting, also called black because it provides an invisible source of light in conditions of complete darkness, gave this special type of theater its name: Black Light Theater.
I hope someday to be able to go to this beautiful place
