Cat's behavior

There is something I noticed recently in the behavior of our cats and it surprised me a lot.
We have four cats who are siblings. Three males and one female. Each of them with its individual and genuine character.
Which I thought I already knew well enough. I thought I knew these four cats very well. Each of them. Since they were born in this house and have been growing for a year and a half maybe, before my eyes.

Well, it actually turns out, that there is no way to know them well, as they behave always differently.
For example, each of them behaves in one way when it is alone and in a completely different way when it is with its siblings.

For a long time I wondered why the female cat (the one on the right) behaved in such a schizophrenic way. When I'm out in the garden and she's the only one around, she's the most loving cat in the world. If I do some job, she doesn't even let me do it - spinning around me, rubbing at my feet, chasing my hands to bite my fingers, marking me (you know).

But if one of her brothers is around, sometimes she doesn't even let me pet her and constantly runs away from me and my hands.

Until yesterday, I attributed this to the capriciousness and waywardness inherent in all female animals.

But it turns out that this is not the case, because the one male (pictured above) behaves the same way.
He's the bastard in the whole group. A real bastard. He is the fattest and biggest of all. And this is because he is very impudent and when I feed them he goes around all the bowls. Also, since he's the biggest of them all, when he starts fighting them, I sometimes feel like he wants to kill one of them.

Sometimes I even have to hit him to stop him from harassing his siblings.

But yesterday I realized that when he is alone around, he is a real sweetheart. He is not a brat and a bastard. He doesn't behave in a nasty or crazy way. He doesn't have that specific look of madness that I've already shown you several times. He radiates a calmness that is completely uncharacteristic of him. And I even wanted to caress him, something I don't feel like doing otherwise because he's constantly acting like an asshole.

And it's not only that. There is another case.
That each of the cats behaves differently when I'm out, and my boyfriend is out.
For example, he's always wondering why I spoil our Blacky (in the picture above) so much and call him little baby. Because he's the most loving feline child in the world and the nicest and kindest kitten I've ever had.
But my boyfriend doesn't thing like this. Because he has seen him harass his siblings several times already. In front of him. But not in front of me. In front of me he is the sweetest and kindest baby in the world. 😸

So, aren't cats very capable psychologists and manipulators? What do you think?

steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to small and not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
