Short Story!
Hi guys! Here is a short little story I wrote about Warrior Cats! So I hope you like it!
The Six Cats Journey(part 1)
Rocks tumbled into the gorge, sending a white and black spotted cat flying down into camp. the sound of dogs barking in sunsets head make her scared. Birds squawked and two legs chuckled. A stick flew into camp. The younger two legs came in the gorge with dogs, barking like crazy. One dog ran to purple flower, while the other ran to fern leaf. But, when the dogs got fought off the two legs were angry. The cats hissed. And the two legs stepped back.
"We're going to loose storm clan!" Shouted ice wing.
A two leg ran to the nursery squealing with delight at the kits while the queens tried to scratch it. The two leg picked up a kitten, moss kit.
"Moss kit!" Wailed and shouted rose petal, the mother of the tiny squealing kitten, who was fully white with orange patches, and black stripes.
The two legs ran away with the dogs.
"No, my, my kitten." She cried, sadly.
She dug her claws into the ground. She turned and searched for cow stars coat.
"Cow star! We're getting a patrol to get revenge at the two legs nests!" She yowled, hoping moss kit didn't get killed by the dogs or some other two legs.
"Wait! A patrol! We can't do that!" He replied back.
"I want my kitten!" She screeched. "Ok, ok, fern leaf, purple flower, rose petal, fuzzy pelt, and milky wave, let's go to the two leg place.”
The sun dipped behind the trees, casting the leaves to look as red as blood, and the grass as pink as a flower. The selected cats began there journey, heading to the thunder path, and rose petal was always hoping and crying.
"Monster, step back!" The loud rumble and growl of a monster came speeding past, as the wet rain wet all the cats. It was midnights, as the cats arrived at the edge of the thunder path, although they do need to find shelter. The cats jumped back in surprised, as fern leaf shook all the water of her.
"Could you at least do that some where else?" Fussed purple flower. "Leave her alone, we are just all tired and need some rest and shelter," growled fuzzy pelt. "Enough is enough!" Growled milky wave. "Now listen to your leader." Cow star came towards them, and pointed with his nose over the bushes. "Back on the other side, now!" He continued.
The cats jumped through the bushes, a fox length away from the thunder path. "We....need....shelter," mewed rose petal, nearly collapsed. "Ok, search. Milky wave, take fuzzy pelt to go out and hunt. Fern leaf, search for shelter on the other side of the bushes behind us, and the rest of you stay here."
They nodded, going to where they were chosen to go. "Look, just over-" before purple flower could finish, tiny mewling sounds came on the other side of the bushes.
"Mum, mum!" They shouted.
"Kits no! It's to dangerous to be out here, go back to the clan, and how did you find us?" Rose petal urged.
"Your scent!" Squeaked a dark brown male one, oak kit.
"We wanted to come with you!" Squealed a female one, who was fully silver, storm kit. "Yeah true! Please mum, please!!! Just this once?" Mewed another male who was fully reddish brown with black stripes, bark kit.
"Fine, fine." Said rose heart, as a picture of the tiny female she cat, moss kit, came into her mind. She was just a small kitten, fully white, but with lime stripes, and brown on her tail tip, ears, muzzle and paws.
Then she turned around to see purple flower pointing with her nose to a small burrow under the thunder path. This was the only shelter. The cats squeezed one by one, into the tunnel. It led to a nearly pitch black den, the old scent of fox, but they moved on because it was to noisy here. Water was dripping down from the top, with old moss beds. The monsters roared above of them. "I don't like this place mummy," whispered storm kit, as she continued. "It's to noisy, wet and old." She put her face into her mums fur. "It has to do, only just this once, please kits, then we can go home." She replied back. The kits nodded, and then lay down on the most comftiest torn moss bed.
Rose petal closed her eyes, going into deep dream. She was in a complete different forest, with needles. She liked the crunch under her paws, but in the real world she new it was the old torn moss bed. She new this was sky clan territory, as she looked around. She heard a cry, as she ran to it. Until she came, to moss kit! Her heart filled with joy as she hoped this would really happen. She new moss kit was also in this dream, by the way she talked. "Mum? Is that y-y-you?" She mewed. "Your in the same dream as I am, don't worry, I'll find you." "O-o-ok." She mewed. "Are you in sky clan territory?" "N-no, I'm I-in a yellow a-and blue two leg nest." She kept mewing. "Ok, I'll come." Then, moss kit was fading and she knew it was time to wake up. "Good bye, kitten," she meowed as she hugged her and woke up, into the real world as she heard a monster roar above of her.
Tiny pebbles fell onto her, and she shook them off and saw her kits. "Wake up," she prodded them all with a paw gently. "Can I eat?" Mewed storm kit. "Yeah I'm hungry," nodded oak kit. Bark kit mewed his approval. "Ok, well eat when the cats wake up." She meowed. She looked up around, and saw the patrols came back, and there was a small fresh kill pile. She stood up, leaving her kittens to rest, as she wondered outside.
It was dawning, as the loud rumble of the thunder path came again. She stayed still, remembering moss kit. What if she was in one of the monsters? She saw other cats in them before, some meowing to get out. Dawn was rising, as it was a bit missy and foggy today. It was hard to see, and she could only scent damp and mist. She looked up, and heard a harsh cry, she looked for trees, but none could be seen in the fog. "Hello? Anyone there!" She mewed, horrified. The harsh cry came again, but this time she knew what it was. Magpie!
She screeched as a black and white frame came, sharp with claws, as she ran as quick as she could. She ran to the loud rumble, and shot into the tunnel panting, just as the magpie swooped tiny pebbles onto her. "Don't go out side-" she painted and fell. All the cats got up and looked terrified at her. "Why?" Mewed cow star. "Magpie!" She yowled. The cats looked at each other.
"No one shall search in this weather today to, we should take a break," cow star announced. "No," rose petal shook her head. "We need to find my kit, please, I know which two leg nest she's in, she told me in a dream, a blue and yellow one." Cow star was shocked, but dipped his head in approval. "Very well, if you wish to find your kit we will." He looked at the entrance. "Take a kit each," he looked at the warriors. Fuzzy pelt took bark kit, while purple flower took oak kit and milky wave took storm kit.
Fern leaf got her herb pile, that was wrapped up in a big leaf. Cow star took the lead outside. "Be quiet, and try not to step on fragile stuff," he huffed. He crouched next to the thunder path. "Jump, when I say," the cats moved into a line, ready to jump. The harsh cry of the magpie was heard above, getting louder till rose petal could see a shadow, then a black and white frame. "Magpie," she whispered. No return. "Magpie..." she hissed. "Ok," cow star meowed. "Magpie!!!" She shouted, as the frame shot down towards them. "Jump!" Cow star ordered as the cats shot forward. They all landed on the same monster, with the kits. She sat down, thinking of moss kit.
"Moss kit, oh my beautiful kit, I hope your ok, please be, I'm coming, don't worry, just wait a bit longer and I'll be there, I promise," she lifted her head up to the misty sky. A harsh cry sounded. "The hawk followed us!" Screamed rose petal. "Its ok, this monster is to fast for it, well tire it out." She turned around to see the magpie, its claws swooping but to far for it to hit them.
She sighed with relief. "Clan, jump when I say jump to the right," the clan got in a line, then leaped when cow star said so. They turned to see a yellow and blue two leg nest. "I think this is it!" She bounced around. Her belly rumbled, remembering the clan forgot to eat. Maybe moss kit would have some food.
She looked at the nest, following cow star, crouching. There was a open window that lead to a place with a grey hole, and lots of doors. They jumped in, trying not break anything. She heard a mew. Moss kit! I'm coming! Until, she heard a dog. "Help!" The mew got louder. "Moss-" fern leaf covered her mouth. "Be quiet," she hushed her, like a kitten and a mother. Her heart dropped as she saw the kitty pet was a adult, a fully white tom with orange patches that had stripes in them. He was wearing a dark blue collar, with a yellow tingly thing that made a ringing noise.
"Jump out!" He hissed as the clan jumped out. "This is my den! What are all you kitty pets doing out here! Without your collars to! Or are you strays?" He turned around, puffing his chest out and continued, "I don't like strays, don't tell me your one!" He hissed. "No, were n-" the kitty pet interrupted. "Thank goodness for that!" "Yes, but where clan cats" the kitty pets head turned. "Clan cats?" "Cats of the wild, we live in the forest. We're in a clan called storm clan. There are three more clans, we fight for territory, hunt our own food, and make our own shelter, but we live in one spot."
The kitty pet seemed wordless. "So, you live wild?" The cats nodded. "Wow! I can't believe I'm meeting forest cats! Isn't hunting prey hard?" This time fern leaf stood up. "Yes, in some times and weather, we also have star clan with us, we go to this place called 'crystal pool' where we get dreams from star clan. There are leaders and different ranks, like a medicine cat. Only medicine cats and leaders and go to the crystal pool." The kitty pet under stood. "I get it," he meowed. "My names thorn" he nodded at his collar, were it had a carved word that was thorn.
Cow star nodded. "I'm cow star the leader, these are my warriors, fuzzy pelt, milky wave and purple flower, this is my medicine cat, fern leaf, and a queen, who raises kits, rose petal." Rose petal dipped her head. The kitty pet nodded. A two leg called out hid name. "I've always wanted to live in the wild, I try even hunt my prey but I fail, and I'm to scared to see what's on the other side of the fence." Cow star spoke then after him, "Maybe you could join our clan?" "Maybe," said the kitty pet.
A two leg called again. "I need to go, bye!" The cats said bye, as they looked around for another yellow and blue nest. That was the wrong nest, but at least maybe we'll get a new warrior. Wait! I can see a yellow and blue nest! "There!" Rose petal ran, and looked behind to make sure the other cats where following.
She heard a mew at the nest. "Moss kit!" She screamed. She ran into the nest, where a flap was in the door. She padded on the cold floor. She looked around at the strange things, until she heard paw steps. She stayed still, and turned to see a small shape running down the stairs to her. "Mummy? Mummy!" The small kitten jumped onto her. "I miss you!" She started to purr, until she heard more clattering. Another pear of cats came, but it was a female with kittens. "That's my kitten!"
"No, she's mine!" She hissed. "She's from the forest like me!" This time a kit answered. "It's true, she even said that." The kitty pet mum hissed, "fine she's yours, but what's her name?" "Moss kit." The mother was surprised, but the two legs came and threw stuff at rose petal. "Argh! Hold on kit!" The two leg notice the cat and threw a stick but it missed her. "Back to the clan!" The cats ran, but stopped at the den under the thunder path. They ate at there mealtime, enjoying that there going home.
When they arrived, the mother rushed to the nursery, and laid down with her kits. "I love you all kits, and I'll always be with you, even when I'm with star clan, I'll be near you, watching over you like a hawk." She purred with her kits. Night fell, and they went to sleep, but rose petal had a dream that night, from star clan.
"Red pelt?!" Her mate nuzzled her. "This is from star clan," he meowed, purring. " I miss you," she purred. "Yes, but we don't have long, I have a message." Rose petal listend to her mate. "You must return to two legs, and meet with one, then that one will join you," she knew what he ment, the kitty pet the other day. She said bye to him, as he faded and dawn rose.
