5 Tips to follow with cats in winter

1 - Make a fleece or fabric robe for your cat
Actually, you must make a fleece robe, which is the best way to prevent your cat from feeling cold.
You can use up your leftovers and make a fleece robe or even a small keffiyeh to help your cat cope with the cold.
Make sure that the cat’s coat or jacket is comfortable and not too wide, as it will hinder your cat from moving and jumping, and at the same time you must make sure that it is not too tight and hinders its movement or breathing.
2- Provide a warm bed for your cat in a safe place
You will notice in the winter that your cat avoids entering cold places such as the toilet, unlike in the summer, because the toilet is very cold and will cause the cats to drop in temperature.
Your cat may run away and hide in your bed, under heavy sheets, or in the wardrobe.
So provide a bed for your cat, whether you buy a cat bed or use a box with a piece of fleece inside so it can warm up easily.
You can also put the cat bed near the fireplace so your cat can sleep long and warm nights in the winter.
3- Make sure the doors and windows are closed well
On cold winter nights, cats may become curious, afraid or bored and start wandering around the house without a goal, and therefore they will be more exposed to many situations.
If you leave the window open, cats may climb up and be exposed to air currents, which may infect them with severe colds and perhaps more than that.
Also, forgetting the balconies doors open may push cats to go out, and therefore they are sure to catch colds and possibly pneumonia.
Therefore, make sure to seal the doors and windows, especially in the evening or if you leave the house for periods during the day, especially in the winter.
4- Make sure your house is warm
If the temperatures drop, you will notice this on your cat. Every cat is different from the other, and it appears by experience that there is no specific temperature that we can say is suitable for cats.
Therefore, you must always monitor your cat and provide food and water for it, especially on cold nights.
And if you notice that your cat is trying to sneak into your bed or hide in a crate or inside a piece of cloth in a corner of your house, it will definitely feel cold.
