Caturday post : my first crazy cat lady post 🐱😻

in #cat6 years ago

I have four cats. But I got photos of only two kitties. My big beautiful boys who are love bugs and great mousers for our homestead.

Carrot and Zuma(said Zoo-ma)

Zuma is a long hair grey and white cat that we adopted as a kitten from a rescue group. He came from a remote village in Alaska.

He loves to play with our dog, he will flop down on the floor in front of the dog and the dog will flea bite his belly. They love each other💗

Carrot is a six toed orange tabby. We got him and his orange sister from a lady for free. The plan was to keep the orange kitties as barn cats, their mama was and taught then to mouse. But we got them towards the end of the summer, and didn’t like leaving babies outside in the cold in a strange new place. So they became indoor/outdoor cats.
They both are still great mousers, and help when the mice/shrews try to come in when the temps drop.

Look at his freckles, they developed as he got older. They even showed up in his whiskers and on his lips. He is annoyed that I had a camera in his face.😻

I have four cats total, 2 boys and 2 girls. My oldest we adopted when she was 3.5 yrs old from the shelter.

💗All of my cats are spayed or neutered.💗

Cats are always good to have around the homestead!

Yes they are! I didn’t realize how much I would need more cats until I seen the mice in the chicken yard. Yes it’s fun shooting mice with a B.B. gun, but it’s not fun getting eaten alive my the mosquitoes while you wait.

Happy Caturday to you. Here is a picture of my fur babies. I have 7 of them.

Those are some great looking dudes!! =)

Thanks! They are awesome cats, mouthy and friendly cuddle bugs.

We have way too many cats here. We started with a male for keeping snakes and mice away. He brought his girlfriend home and we had babies. He is long gone but all the babies stayed. The problems is we can only touch 2 of the cats as the rest will run from us. So we are looking for a solution now.

Live trap them, or ask a rescue for help. Their knowledge is normally free, some will even volunteer to help. They could hook you up. They can also be adopted out as barn cats. But I would say fix them so there isn’t an issue.

We have cat colonies here in Alaska. People dump their cats and don’t “fix” them. There was a colony that was 60+ cats in Palmer. Then there is one in Willow, and in Talkeetna.
