Una tarde sentado frente al rió caroni, contemplaba la otra orilla del rio pincelada por un impactante atardecer, delineado el horizonte por el majestuoso auyentepui, coronado con el rojo y naranja de la luz del ocaso, sentí aquí el llamado a su encuentro, en ese momento me hice firme compromiso de regresar prontamente, antes de finalizar el invierno, para transitar a pies el sendero que conduce de la candelaria a canaima y desde allí remontar en curiara el rió carrao para llegar al salto ángel, en las entrañas misma de este típico tepui.
