Favorites From the Detroit Auto Show
This weekend my friend had a free ticket to the 2017 North American International Auto Show so I decided to tag along. Here are some of the photos we took:
Just walking in to the autoshow is an experience. People everywhere! To avoid some of the mess, we parked in Greektown and took the people mover to the convention center.
A Cadillac representative talks about the Escala concept car. Photo credit goes to my friend Justin who is a much better photographer than me.
In my opinion, the Ford GT was the star of the show. This is the car that won the 2016 Le Mans.
The second Ford GT at the show. Asking price of only $400,000! Such a beautiful car.
The BMW X2 concept car shows off the trend of luxury cars without door handles. Sensors unlock the doors and pop them open. I may be old fashioned, but this is one trend I wasn't excited about.
The Camry will be getting a new front end. Toyota seems to be trying hard to spice up the world's most generic sedan.
One interesting participant at the auto show was Guangzhou Automotive Corporation (GAC). This is their Enspirit concept car. GAC hopes to capitalize on the growth of electric cars in order to compete with established car manufacturers. Interesting to see how the Chinese car companies will perform in the next few years. I also liked the bonsai tree in the back seat.
The Lincoln Navigator was another of my favorite concept cars at the show. The actual production model of the Navigator will be revealed soon at the New York auto show.
