What about Toyota MR2 SW20?
Overview
Back in 1979 the lead designer Akio Yoshida wanted to create an economic vehicle that is fun to drive. Ten years later he managed to combine these two contradictive requirements in Toyota MR2. This is a Mid-engine Runabout 2-seater little beast. Combine the capital letters and you’ll get MR2. With a 4 cylinder 2.0 L engine and 165 PS MR2 is accelerating from 0-100 for only 7.3 seconds.
Pros & Cons
T-TOPS, what could be more awesome than T-TOPS. That was so cool back in the 80s and 90s. Actually it's still super cool nowadays.
As it’s a mid-engine MR2 is handling easily on the road. With improved aerodynamics and balanced weight it goes easily around the twisties. The engine is considered to be very reliable and successful.
With the engine behind the driver seat comes a little disadvantage though. On rear occasions the front could lift which leads to understeer so have this in mind. On the other hand what you will feel the most is oversteer because of the light weight and rear wheel drive.
Evolution
W10 (1984-1989)
MR2 was owning every car not only on the road, but off the road aswell. Take a look at this 222D alien monster that participated in group S and later in group B.
Nevertheless it shared only the macpherson strut suspension with the original W10, we still call it MR2.

W30 (1999-2007)
