Transformers - is Bumblebee better as a Camaro?
In the original stories, the beloved Autobot transformed into a classic VW Beetle!
During its transition into a live action movie, the make and model changed to a Camaro:
Why? I hear you ask...Apparently, the original reminded director Michael Bay of Herbie:
I like Bumblebee in any make or model, as he is very cool. He even visits the North of England sometimes:

Being a fan of the Transformers cartoon I would have preferred Bee be a Beetle. I love muscle cars, but the Camaro never really fit. They had so many characters that could've been the new Camaro.

That's a great point - there are so many others that could have been a new Camaro.
As Bumblebee was originally a Beetle, it would have paid homage to the cartoons that came before.
