TOYOTA WILL iV: pure JDM citycar.
One day i decided to buy an unusual city car that was easy to be recognized on Italian roads.
I wanted something practical and reliable. So 4 doors, automatic and japanese quality.
Not easy to get one, till i found a WILL iV. Yes a WILL because technically the car is not a TOYOTA.
It is based on Toyota Yaris but the marketing managers decided to create a new brand for Japanese market and call it WILL.
The Model is the iV. Based on 2000 model year Japanese Toyota Yaris 1300cc with automatic gearbox, was created by Toyota as retro-style cool city car, infact it can remember a Citroen or an old Ford Anglia, but it is really a modern little car.
The car has all the comfort you need, a power steering, auto gearbox with lever near at the steering wheel and overdrive, radio, 4 power windows, air conditioning and sunroof that opens like old FIAT 500. So for a 2000 year car is not bad at all.
My version was painted in a rare metallic antique pink, fitted with extra market 17" alloy wheels with large tires gave a lot of stability.
Inside the front seats are for 2 people even if the large bench looks perfect for 3.....illegally we used it with 3 persons one time. The back is comfortable for 3 persons but homologated for 2. Even the luggage compartment is acceptable even if more from a sport car than an every day car.
Produced only in right hand drive was very unique in Italy, so rare also in Europe that SpeedHunter magazine did a report years ago at Monza Circuit.
What can i say, i did 50.000 kms with it, without any problem and i enjoyed a lot the ride with many trips around Italy.
But one day with family growing and needs of more room i sold it to a Kcars collector in Holland.
