The best (more or less affordable) EVs you might consider are the Hyundai Kona and the Kia e-Niro. Both have a range of about 400 km (less in winter and with only highway driving), but are above €40k. If they don't fit your needs (and wallet), you should probably go for a (plug-in) hybrid or wait till the VW ID3 or any of its siblings from Seat/Skoda.
