Lotus Elise has been around since 1996, although it's chassis had been over 20 years, but Lotus keep improving and shave every ounce they can on this car with today's rules and regulations on cars safety and no doubt it is still the best recipe and most fun money can buy real driver's car.

Honda S2000 as the name suggested, it came out in year 2000, although it's been nearly 18 years old. But even in today's standard it is still one of the best lightweight sports car, due to it's high revving vtec engine and honda best gearshifter and it will definitely in history book as now in used market, the price has been skyrocket and it is very difficult to find 1 in most country, definitely a classic collectible.

Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ, these twins are built and collaborate between Toyota and Subaru, to go back to the root of real sportscar that makes driving fun!

They are definitely one of the most affordable lightweight sportscar money can buy today beside Mazda MX-5. Perhaps some of you car enthusiast / petrolhead like me know about Toyota Trueno AE-86 from initial D, and one of the most beautiful and expensive Toyota in auction house today, the Toyota 2000GT, which was also James Bond drive it in You Only Live Twice in 1967. These two classics are the recipe for the new cars, but with modern safety, rules and regulation.

I am fortunately to own 1 of these baby, and it's been 5 years I'm driving, and I'm definitely keep it for life no matter what car I'm changing to in future. In the last 5 years, I've test driven many cars and owned some new sedan, and until today many cars can't keep up with how it feels in this price range, but Lotus Elise / Exige is a step up from these cars, but then again, Price difference and some daily drivability sacrifice! But boy! Worth every penny, if you got the money! 😉

Mazda Miata MX-5 has a really long history, the first gen NA came out since 1989!! Current 4th gen ND still retain those old schools lightweight recipe, and they had been sold more than 1,000,000 units since 1989.

This 4th gen, looks much more agressive in person, esp the front view! not as cutey as old gens, but it is still a very beautiful, very well-proportioned roadster design, have I told you how fun it is to drive this car? It feels very similar to 86/BRZ, and I am lucky to test driven once, it can chuck into corner so easily and so fast.

The only thing I dislike compare to 86/BRZ was the steering is a tad lighter, but nothing beats Lotus steering's feel and response, due to it's none-assisted steering. But I have to agree that gearbox manual shifter is much more better feel, shorter throw and ease of use than 86/BRZ, it is up there with Honda, and even Porsche in terms of manual shifter. Overall it is a fantastic choice for a lightweight sports cars.

Alfa Romeo 4C Ohhh... Alfa Romeo... words can't describe how beautiful this thing is, look at it's sensual Italian body, Ferrari-esque design, in fact it is engineered by Ferrari/Maserati top engineers, and built in Maserati plant.

This car not only look like a mini-supercar, but it is a truly lightweight no bullshit sports cars, with the used of advanced carbon fiber as chassis monocoque which you only found in 3-5 times more expensive Lamborghini and McLaren supercars, this car is definitely a bargain.

This is 1 of my dream car, unfortunately I have yet test driven one, so I can't really comment how it drives, but reviews are kinda mix and match, pros and cons. So if any of you got experienced with this car, please chip in your idea down below the comment.

与86 / BRZ相比，我唯一不喜欢的是转向盘有点太轻了，但是也没有什么能打败Lotus转向的感觉和反应，由于它没有任何辅助。但是我必须同意，齿轮箱手动换档器比86 / BRZ更好的感觉，更短的投掷和使用便利性，它与本田一样，甚至保时捷在手动变速箱方面也是如此。总体而言，这是轻便的跑车的绝佳选择。
