Engine series: #3 "The Bad ass 4G63"
Did you know that Mitsubishi Lancer has been with us since 1973? The legendary Lancer Turbo was there before the "Evolution" models of the 90s.
The first turbo lancer that appeared was a rear-wheel drive that equipped a 4G63 engine version (just the same one that has been used until now in the Evo models).

There are two variants of the 1997cc 4G63 engine (SOHC and DOHC).
The main difference between them is as follows: For DOHC engines, one camshaft is used for intake valves and one for exhaust valves. Unlike DOHC engines, SOHC engines have a camshaft that handles both types of valves. Both versions are available in both NA (Natural Suction) and Turbo versions.
The DOHC version was introduced in 1987 to the Japanese market in the Galant model, in the NA and turbocharged versions. It was mounted on several models such as the Galant VR-4 (1988-92), Eclipse (1990-1999) and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution I-VIII
Later versions were called MIVEC when developing an electronic control valve synchronization system, although 4G92 engine versions had already begun to implement this system in models such as the Mitsubishi Mirage 92.

From the 1990s to 1992 (with the BOOM of the JDM) 4G63 engines began to assemble more robust crankshafts and the use of six screws to fix the flywheel to the crankshaft. In May 1992, the Lancer Evo versions used seven screws to secure the steering wheel to the crankshaft. As time goes by, improvements are made. The engine block is made of iron and is fitted with a cylinder head cast in DOHC aluminium. Uses multiple fuel injection points, 4 valves per cylinder, turbocharger and intercooler and forged steel connecting rods for increased compression
General Spec
The 4G63T utilizes a full-flow pressure-fed filtration system for lubrication. The engine has a water-cooled forced circulation cooling system. It has an involute gear oil pump. The motor uses a centrifugal impeller-type water pump. Four electromagnetic injectors are used. The regulated fuel pressure for the engine is 36.6 psi. The engine uses a multi-point electronic fuel injection system.
Here is a 4G63T tunned by me and my workshop hope you like it
