2018 Detroit NAIAS (Jan 2018) Coverage – Ford Mustang Bullitt plus a Full Corral of Mustangs

When you have an Auto Show in Detroit, in this case the grand-daddy Detroit NAIAS, that is open to the public this year from Jan 20-28, you come to expect things will be done here on a much grander scale than other Auto Shows on the Planet, since it needs to do homage and respect to the Motor City.   

Let's keep in mind that the Motor City obtained this name based on the fact that the Domestic Automakers (Chrysler, Ford, and GM) early on considered Detroit their home, and this is where Henry Ford built his first engine propelled Ford Quadricycle in 1896 out of his garage at 58 Bagley Ave, which was then succeeded by Henry Ford's Model A built in 1903 on Mack Ave. - - all located within the city of Detroit, just a few blocks away from the NAIAS at Cobo Center. 

Consequently, instead of displaying only one or possibly two Ford Mustangs, Ford’s corral of Mustangs at this year’s NAIAS was seven, which included the original 1968 Mustang driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 legendary classic movie Bullitt, along with the 50th Anniversary 2018 Model Ford Mustang Bullitt Vehicle that you can now purchase at your local Ford Dealership (see my separate article on the Ford Mustang Bullitt posted approximately 2-weeks ago).  

In addition to the original and current Mustang Bullitt vehicles, there were four Ford Mustangs that showcased the Base Mustang and Mustang GT350, and then of course the Shelby GT350 Mustang was also displayed, but located in the upper-deck Performance Vehicle section, alongside the Supercar Ford GT. 

The first 16-photos below are the Mustang Bullitt vehicles, the 1968 original, and the 50th Anniversary 2018 current Model. The next 17-photos (which starts with a Dark Red Hardtop) will be a mix of Base Mustangs and Mustang GT350’s, then the last remaining 14-photos are devoted to a Blue Colored Mustang Shelby GT350.
