Car of the Week: Mercedes SL55
This week we look at the Mercedes SL class.
This SL has a supercharged V8 engine that whistles when pressure is applied to the pedal and reaches 60mph in under 5 seconds. This is pretty good for a car weighing over 2 tons. The same cannot be said about the handling. It drives like a semi and has a turning radius of an ocean liner. Much like an ocean liner, this car is made for cruising and is, for the most part, a comfortable ride.
The car has aged well and looks decent by today's standards. The inside material is soft to the touch. It has the look and feel of a premium car.
If you are looking for style, class, and luxury but are willing to sacrifice some track performance, then this is the car for you.
It's a very beautiful car, its soft lines do not impress as well as they do when you see it in person and the Rawr from that V8 sounds amazing to say the least.
