review: carrie by Stephen King [ENG/ESP]

TRAMACarrie fue la primera novela publicada por el autor Stephen King en el año de 1974. En ella descubrimos la historia de nuestra protagonista Carietta White, quién durante años ha sufrido de abusos incontrolables tanto por parte de su madre, como de sus compañeros de clase. Carrie, rodeada de un fanatismo religioso llevado al punto de la enfermedad y, de los constantes abusos por parte de sus compañeros, descubre con el paso del tiempo que posee poderes telequinéticos, lo que termina convirtiéndose en la apertura de su propia emancipación (o eso era lo que ella pensaba).
Luego de un desagradable encuentro con la pubertad, el sometimiento de burla y la llegada del baile de graduación, conoceremos cómo una persona que se creía frágil, puede doblegar al mundo ante sus pies.
RESEÑAStephen King me parece un autor increíble, la verdad es que sus historias y la manera en cómo te adentra en su mundo es maravilloso, aunque aún quedan muchos libros de él en mi lista de espera.
Carrie fue la gran apertura de King en el mundo de la literatura y, lo cierto es que me parece una de las mejores aperturas que ha podido tener un escritor. Es un libro que entretiene, es bastante fácil de leer y simplemente logra impresionar en gran medida. Una de las cosas que me encantan de éste autor, es que puede mezclar dos temas totalmente distintos y alejados entre sí, provocando horror al entrelazarlos (religión y terror).
Bien, éste libro es de lectura rápida, yo me lo terminé en sólo dos días. No está separado en capítulos, se podría decir que es una lectura corrida, lo cuál es bastante agradable ya que siempre te mantiene dentro de la trama, no hay pausas de por medio.
Tener empatía con nuestra protagonista realmente es bastante fácil, durante la lectura logras sentir un poco todo lo que le ha tocado sufrir prácticamente desde que fue concebida, además de que teniendo una crianza que fue llevada a la enfermedad del fanatismo, le complica bastante su relación con el resto del mundo. Te hace pensar en todas las cosas que hubiese podido conseguir ésta chica si tan sólo hubiese existido un equilibrio entre lo horrible y lo terrible que le tocó vivir.
Es excepcional, sí, aunque realmente me hubiese gustado percibir un poco más del contacto de Carrie y su poder telequinésico, sólo un poco más de profundidad en esa cara de la historia, sin embargo su ausencia no genera un vacío en la misma.
La verdad es que la historia te deja mucho en qué pensar, si encontrarás sentimientos de tristeza e ira durante la lectura ya qué, es evidente que cosas de éste estilo (cómo el acoso escolar, padres tóxicos, vidas rotas) sí suceden en el mundo. Quisieras tener la posibilidad de adentrarte y sacar a éste chica de todos esos problemas. Inevitablemente te vuelves un poco más humano.
Muchas veces he considerado que las obras de King son un mensaje más contundente que simple material de terror, hay mensajes que se dicen de manera clara sin ser directos y, eso es algo increíble. Le doy como calificación 5 estrellas y, lo recomiendo en sobremanera. Si deseas adentrarte al mundo de King, considero que Carrie debería de ser tu primera lectura.

Carrie, surrounded by religious fanaticism to the point of illness and constant abuse by her classmates, discovers over time that she possesses telekinetic powers, which ends up becoming the opening of her own emancipation (or so she thought)..
After an unpleasant encounter with puberty, the subjugation of mockery and the arrival of the prom, we will learn how a person who thought she was fragile, can bend the world at her feet.
REVIEWStephen King seems to me an incredible author, the truth is that his stories and the way he takes you into his world is wonderful, although there are still many books of his on my waiting list.
Carrie was King's great opening in the world of literature and, the truth is that it seems to me one of the best openings that a writer could have had. It's a book that entertains, is fairly easy to read and just manages to impress in a big way. One of the things I love about this author is that he can mix two totally different and distant themes, provoking horror by intertwining them (religion and terror).
Well, this book is a quick read, I finished it in only two days. It is not separated into chapters, you could say that it is a continuous reading, which is quite nice because it always keeps you inside the plot, there are no pauses in between.
Having empathy with our protagonist is really quite easy, during the reading you get to feel a little of everything that she has had to suffer practically since she was conceived, besides having an upbringing that was led to the disease of fanaticism, it complicates her relationship with the rest of the world. It makes you think of all the things this girl could have achieved if only there had been a balance between the horrible and the terrible that she had to live.
It is exceptional, yes, although I really would have liked to perceive a little more of Carrie's contact and her telekinetic power, just a little more depth in that side of the story, however its absence does not create a void in the story.
The truth is that the story leaves you with a lot to think about, yes you will find feelings of sadness and anger during the reading as it is evident that things like this (such as bullying, toxic parents, broken lives) do happen in the world. You wish you had the chance to go in and pull this girl out of all those problems. You inevitably become a little more human.
I have often found King's works to be a stronger message than simple horror material, there are messages that are clearly stated without being direct and that is something incredible. I give it a 5 star rating and highly recommend it. If you want to get into King's world, I think Carrie should be your first read.
