Carp Fishing in Uruguay [yeah, you heard it right]
You most likely heard of Uruguay because of The Simpsons' joke of U R Gay
[Ohhhh the memories]
Or the Marijuana legislation in recent years [You cannot imagine how hard it’s getting to complete a single post lately].
But I guess you will never hear about Uruguay if you are exchanging opinions in the Carp Fishing arena, so I thought in promoting this beautiful sport with my fellow Steemians.
Pretty much during 2017 my best friends and I have been promoting this activity in our fishing area, since it’s not something popular; hell, we even need to import ourselves our own carp-fishing specific equipment because no fishing store does it, it's simply not worth it for them. Or in other cases, do it ourselves.
But we are not giving up! In fact, during winter we polished our technique and now that the water is warming up we are seeing great results.
We are using two main baits: Corn and Boilies
[In case you don't know what a boilie is, here you have a picture of one we made]
And here is the fun part, the catch...
...But before any PETA lover says anything, we release the carp on a timely and gently maner after curing any hook injury.
[The first one of this season]
[It didn't matter if it was night time]
[We even got some Royal carps]
[This is my friend Nico having a nice fight]
[We cannot ask for a better fishing spot at Solis Grande river]
[This is me with my last carp, sorry for not wearing a t-shirt but it was around 30 celcius that day]
[My friend Gustavo releasing one of these beautiful carps]
So, there you go. Now you know that if you come to uruguay in Spring-Summer you would like to take your carp-fishing equipment with you. And in case you also like some local help feel free to ping me and we can do a steem-carp-fishing ultimate challenge :)
See you later and apologizes in case you find gramatical horrors.
Thanks for sharing your carp fishing adventure. I'm always happy to read a fishing story. Hope you have a few more.
Tank you for reading it @huntbook, we are focus on carps right at the moment, but once the water temp gets to the right level we are also going to the coast line for some nice flounders
Good luck, and please post us up about it...
@mac-o you were flagged by a worthless gang of trolls, so, I gave you an upvote to counteract it! Enjoy!!
