IMG_20160904_143550.jpgHello there! One of my hobbies is fishing...

And today I want to write something about the historical roots about that very special game...
As most people think modern carpfishing was invented in England there are some publications available that show that in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century some specialists got some big carps on the lines with very similar methods we use now; less plastic, more watercraft...

„Am Fischwasser“ (1913) „Grundangelei als feiner Sport“ (1921) „Angelsport im Süsswasser“ (1903,) von Dr. Karl Heintz.

BAITS AND FEEDING
Boilies – the modern standard bait – havent been available at this time. People used potatoes, worms, maggots, cheese or dough...one of the ideas was to use some honey as paste...does that sound familiar to you? Ancient dipping...they already used shrimppaste too...

So one of the things that were clear back then:if you want to catch a carp, you have to use some special strategy! Try to feed them so that they stay at your spot! You can make them stick to a special area; Use popatoes or corn for 6-8 days, make a pause for 2 days then go fishing...this recommendations is still important and is used as a standard feeding strategy by a lot of folks.

A very special method invented at the beginning of the 20th century: use a mesh and fill it with bones, use a stone to get it to the ground; The big carps should come and have a hard time getting the bones out of the mesh; keeping them on spot; clever!

Another tip: be silent
