1. Cardano ($ADA)

  • Still in development.
  • 3rd Generation Blockchain technology
    • (Bitcoin would be 1st Generation, Ethereum is 2nd Generation)
  • Lead developer is Charles Hoskinson. He was the co-founder of Ethereum.
  • First blockchain platform to evolve out of a scientific philosophy and a research-first driven approach.
  • Had their Whitepaper peer reviewed for over 2 years before releasing it. (Also a first)
  • Uses Outoboros protocol for staking. "Ouroboros is the first proof of stake protocol that has mathematically been shown to be provably secure, and the first to have gone through peer review through its acceptance to Crypto 2017, the leading cryptography conference"
  • Uses a Treasury (Decentralized Bank account) to fund future projects. Funded by inflation and voted by stake holders on what the funds are spent on.
  • Has a working wallet, Daedalus.
  • Solves issues Ethereum has with TPS, scalability and security.
