Volvo has unveiled its first ever 3-cylinder engine that worships the new XC40.
The petrol engine has a volume of 1.5 liters, generating 158 hp. and 265 Nm of torque. It combines with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and next year it will be combined with an 8-speed automatic.
According to data provided by the Swedish manufacturer, the XC40 version with this unit accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.4 seconds and develops a maximum speed of 200 km / h. The fuel consumption is 7.1 l / 100 km.
The new 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine will be assembled on the same production line as the other Volvo engines. At a later stage, it will become part of a new hybrid power unit.
