1961 Chrysler 300G
In Portland (US), June 22-23, the beautiful 1961 Chrysler 300G will heading to auction through Mecum. With its Jetson style, this red model is one of the only 340 hardtops that exist today. Perfect ride for Road 66 !
History of the Chrysler 300
The Chrysler’s new series 300 began in 1955 on the base of New Yorker hardtop coupe with front sheetmetal and the most powerful engine for Chrysler, a 331 cc Hemi V8 with dual four-barrel carburetors. The letter series progressed alphabetically :
- 300D in 1958 with fuel injection,
- 300E in 1958 with a 413cc engine,
- 300F in 1960 with ram induction and 400 hp,
- and 300G in 1961 with a new design of the frond end, grill and headlights.
The 1961 300G has a new style with the quad headligths arranged in angled with small parking lamps below. At the rear, the fins were made sarpher pointed. Inside the power windows were standard and in option, factory air conditioning like on this model.


Technical specification
This Chrysler 300G has an engine 413 CI Cross Ram delivered 400 hp with its automatic transmission.
Outside red painting in order to be noticed on the road, the interior is also stunning with original saddle tan leather interior.
