Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II

in #canon6 years ago

We have hoped for 1-inch sensors in premium cameras. The sensor size provides images with a clear advantage on phone snap, four times the surface area, especially in dim light compared to a standard point-and-shoot and six times the size of the iPhone sensor. Canon PowerShot is one of the smallest cameras available with the G9X Mark II ($ 52.99) 1 inch sensor. It provides excellent images, and has a large touch LCD that will appeal to photographers used to use the smartphone, but the lens is relatively small, and telephoto is finally dim. This is a solid alternative, but the option of our editors in the premium price range is the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX 100 III, which has a bright lens and EVF.

G9X Mark II is a small, pocket-friendly camera. It measures 2.3 inches 3.9 to 1.2 inches (HWD) and weighs only 7.3 oz. Compare that with RX100 III, which is slightly larger, 2.3 to 4.0 inches 1.6 inches, and heavy, 10.2 ounces. Canon sells G9X Mark II in black, or two-tone silver and brown finish, which we get for review.

The quality of you picture seems very good. Most Canon Powershoots were good cameras. I still have an old Power Shoot A3000. That still makes reasonable pictures.
